"GLEN"

The American Master series was an extremely limited run of instruments produced from the late ‘80s to the early ‘90s that perfectly encapsulated the core foundations of Ibanez. As such, the team opted to include a little history while naming this axe “Glen,” short for Glendale California, where Master Luthier, Tak Hosono’s shop was located at the time, and it was the place many of the originals were built. This RG is one of three American Master series reproductions built for this special Ibanez anniversary project. The LA Custom Shop incorporated key elements from the originals like neck-thru construction, a 3-piece Maple/Purpleheart neck block, Mahogany body, Rosewood fingerboard and an exquisite, half-inch-thick Flamed Maple top. These features were incorporated in order to keep the latest incarnation of the American Master series as true to the legacy of the originals as possible.

REACHING BACK “THRU” HISTORY

Neck-thru construction paired with a Maple / Purpleheart neck and center block was a combination at the core of the American Master series, and this design element has been reincorporated into the special reissue. This combination maintains a true and authentic representation of the original series, and bestows this RG with a clean and classic look.

REGAL IN ROSEWOOD

A tried-and-true classic feature, the Rosewood fingerboard, with its warm, deep and rich appearance, ties together all of the period-correct elements of the American Master series RG. The 16” radius provides a lightning fast playing experience, facilitating nimble arpeggios and thrilling solos.

TOPPING IT ALL OFF

This RG features a half-inch thick Flamed Maple top. The greater depth creates a striking appearance when viewing the guitar from any angle as the intense figuring is prominent all the way through the entire top wood. The additional Maple also adds a slight bump in brightness to the guitar’s tone.
